Our Company History
Hungry Planet Organics (HPO), makers of That Yucca Stuff™ was established in 2012 with the goal of providing natural hygiene solutions and organic soil amendments to farmers, growers, producers, turf and facility managers, and gardeners throughout the western region of the United States.
Hungry Planet Organics researches the highest quality sources for its yucca from sustainably-focused growers that meet the increasing demand for its products.
Hungry Planet Organics and That Yucca Stuff™ was founded with the focus on giving back to our planet and the community we live in. Understanding and embracing the urgent need for alternatives to the conventional practices of chemical applications used in agriculture, the founders made it the company mission to provide organic solutions to rebuild our earth free of toxins, providing a safe and vibrant future for all.
As the founder, John Ballard, shared “You are what you eat. That says quite a lot. Thirty years ago, gluten allergies and lactose intolerances were virtually unheard of. Seemingly out of nowhere, many people, especially our children, have some type of allergic reaction to something!
"Our society has become more aware of the overwhelming use of toxic synthetic chemicals in products we consume and in the foods we eat. This is not a coincidence, but rather a cause and effect.
